Racquet Review - Wilson BLX Prostaff 6.1 100
During a recent training session I had the opportunity to test a new Wilson BLX Prostaff 6.1 100 racquet.
First let me talk about the "positives" while testing this racquet.
The first thing that stood out was the racquet cosmetics. It's a beautiful racquet. Very beautiful. The paint job is top-notch, and Wilson finally went back to a more clean, simple and sober look, with white being the predominant color.
The racquet also has a rectangular beam which I love and that feels great when grabbing the racquet by the throat especially for those who hit a one-handed backhand.
Weighing in about 10oz (285g) unstrung, its a light-weight racquet best suited for beginners or even senior players. Ladies will also find it to be a suitable option.
My problem with this racquet was it's weight - or lack of - when associated with the "ProStaff" name. With all of it's heritage, it's strange to pick up a ProStaff racquet as light as this one.
Besides that, it's an option to consider if you are a beginner tennis player or a senior, looking for an easy to swing racquet with lots of power and nice sweet spot. I almost forgot - and it's also a very nice looking stick! :)
Head size: 645cm² / 100in²
Comprimento: 692 mm / 27.25 in.
Weight: 10oz, 285g (unstrung)
Balance: 334mm
Swingweight: 304
Stiffness: 65
Beam Width: 22 m
String pattern: 16x18

Vantage Power
My Vantage racquets when trough an overall. I cleaned them up, changed the bumpers and grommets and the overgrips with Tourna Grip Tac White.
They are all stringed with Kirschbaum Proline Evolution 17 a 55 lbl.
Two of them are Vantage Custom Made racquets (the red and the black one), with identical specs: 100sqin headsize, string pattern 16x19, unstrung weight of 310g + 8g in lead tape, stiffness of 63RA and balance point at 325mm.
The other one is a Vantage Bast Core BC30 with 100sqin headsize, 16x19 string pattern, unstrung weight of 309g + 8g in lead tape, stiffness of 45RA and balance point at 330mm.

Yellow...very yellow!
They are finally here.
The first impression is pretty obvious. They are yellow. Very yellow. Definitely yellow :)
Even tough it's not - by far - my favorite color, I sacrificed the aesthetic value for quality, price, durability and comfort. Mainly Comfort.
After trying out several brands and models in the last few years, and being somewhat disappointed, I decided to give the ASICS Gel Game 3 a chance. After reading a lot of very positive reviews and opinions, I decided to get these new puppies. Let's see how they hold up.
I will only have a chance to try them out on court tomorrow, but for now, my first impression is that they are a light weight shoe and very comfy. Even just walking around in the house I can tell that they will not require any break-in time and are extremely comfortable - a good plus when comparing to my current show the Nike Court Ballsitec 3.3 that after 6 months still hurt me feet..
I will post the review tomorrow. For now here are some pictures, right out of the box.
